The course of study "Bachelor of Music Orchestra Conducting" is oriented towards classical conductor training. On the basis of an intensive study of scores, the conducting technique is taught as a prerequisite for the ordering of musical sequences and is deepened for the artistic expression of one's own interpretative ideas.
The repertoire includes works of symphonic music as well as those of musical theater. Additional training in piano, piano reduction and score playing as well as in singing thoroughly prepare students for a possible career in the theater. However, in cooperation with other teachers, it is also possible to receive impulses from the fields of early music, new music, or even work with choirs or amateur ensembles.
The conducting class works with a professional orchestra at least once a semester and presents the result as a concert in the college's concert hall.
