Extensive networks of extracurricular activities in the three locations and the surrounding area also ensure a broad field of activity for students. There are a number of guitar festivals and competitions, often artistically initiated and directed by the teachers. In municipal and private music schools, students have the opportunity for accompanying internships, sometimes even resulting in initial employment.
Many concert series, churches and independent organizers also offer students a forum for their artistic presentation. All of this leads to a high-caliber education that combines traditional as well as current demands of the various artistic and instrumental pedagogical professions with the high educational standards of the university and thus forms the practice-oriented context for the new courses of study within the Bachelor's and Master's systems.
