The master's degree program in orchestral performance prepares graduates of music academies for a career as an orchestral musician in a targeted and practical manner. The majority of the modular instruction in the master's program "Orchestra Performance" takes place at the Orchesterzentrum|NRW in Dortmund. The main subject lessons and individual modules are taught at the respective conservatory. The Orchesterzentrum|NRW in Dortmund is the central institution of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia for the training of professional orchestral musicians*. The courses of study are strictly oriented towards the requirements of orchestras and the music market and offer many direct links to professional practice.
Unfortunately, it will no longer be possible to apply for this degree programme from the summer semester 2025, as it will be discontinued.
We will inform you about possible alternatives here in due course.
